Buzios

Buzios: The "Saint Tropez of Brazil"... I am not sure exactly why Buzios made it as being compared to the glamorous French city. Is it because of its beautiful beaches? Its endless paved streets with a definite French flair? Its notorious party scene? Or simply because Brigitte Bardot, the “French Marilyn Monroe” used to live and be in love there... Probably for all of those reasons.

Buzios, officially known as Armacao dos Buzios, is a beach town of about 25,000 people located about 170km northeast of Rio de Janeiro. It is located on a scenic peninsula, and has become a popular tourism destination particularly for Brazilians and Argentinians, offering more than twenty picturesque beaches.

Buzios is actually composed of three villages on the peninsula: Ossos, Manguinhos and Armacao de Buzios. Each has a different flavor, with Ossos being the most remote, Manguinhos the most commercial, and Armacao offering the majority of tourist amenities.
