The Most of Brazil in 2 Weeks

This itinerary is designed for those who havelimited time, have the resources for several lengthy flights within Brazil, and desire to see a little bit of each of Brazil’s diverse regions. It can also be modified slightly. Almost all itineraries in Brazil will likely begin in either Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro.

Day 1, 2 & 3 - Rio de Janeiro

By far Brazil’s most interesting city, three days will be enough to get just a taste for the vibrant culture, gorgeous tropical beaches, and towering mountains that surround the city. Make sure to experience live samba music and dancing, fit in a trip to the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, and spend a day soaking up the sun on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Day 4 & 5 - The Falls of Iguazu

Now that you’ve gotten a feel for urban Brazil, mix things up a bit by hopping on a quick flight to see what is arguably the world’s most impressive (although not tallest) waterfall, the Falls of Iguazu. Try to book an early morning flight, and head to the Falls that afternoon.  Make sure to do the amazing Macuco Boat Safari.

Day 6, 7, 8 & 9 - Manaus

Now you’re ready to experience Brazil at its wildest. Hop on a flight to Manaus for some wildlife observation and ecological sightseeing. There’s so much to see, you’ll want the full four days. Day 10, 11 & 12 – Recife and Olinda

Now that you’ve had your fill of the jungle, head back to civilization.Recife and Olinda are two cities in thestate of Pernambuco. Here you can experience traditional Afro-Brazilian music and dancing, try fabulous Northeastern cuisine, and dine on some of the best seafood anywhere.

Day 13 & 14 – Salvador

Bowl of Moqueca

Wrap up your trip with a short flight to Salvador, where you can see the lovely church of Bonfim, tour the Museu de Arte Sacre (Museum of Sacred Art), or dig into steaming bowls of moqueca, a spicy fish stew characteristic of the region.

Now that you’ve wrapped up your trip, head back to Rio to catch your connecting flight home, and get some well-deserved rest on the beach!
