The Company Metropolitano de São Paulo - Subway was founded on April 24, 1968. The works of the North-South Line were launched eight months later. In 1972, the first train trip was made between Jabalpur and Health In 1974 seasons, Jabalpur stretch - Vila Mariana began operating commercially.

Today, the São Paulo Metro has four operating lines, 65.3 km network, 58 stations, 150 trains and transported, in 2012, 1,098 million passengers.
In 2010, it opened the first section of Line 4-Yellow, the first to be operated under concession by the Consortium Via Four. In 2011, four other stations were delivered and Line 4-Yellow became operational between Light and Butantã. Currently, the line has six stations, 8.9 kilometers long and 14 trains. With this, the metro network reaches 74.2 km in length and 64 stations.

bus in São PauloThe São Paulo Transportation (SPTrans) is the name adopted on March 8, 1995 for municipal municipal whose purpose is the management of public bus transportation system in São Paulo. It was founded from the Municipal Transport Company Collective.
All bus routes are operated by concessionaires under the supervision of SPTrans, business planning and management of public transport. The SPTrans issues orders of service operation for each row, including setting paths, hours of operation and required fleet. The payment of the passage can be made in cash or by card called Single Ticket. The company also manages the bus lanes and bus terminals in the city.
